Andy Tsao - Advisory Board Member @ H2; Managing Director @ Silicon Valley Bank: Andy is a Managing Director at Silicon Valley Bank and leads its Global Gateway, which assists innovation companies in the emerging markets with their US and international market expansion. He brings more than 20 years of experience banking dynamic companies in technology industries worldwide. In his roles, Tsao manages SVB’s relationships with venture capital and private equity firms outside the U.S., and also helps emerging market companies as they seek U.S. market entry and U.S. companies as they seek to expand abroad. Previously, Tsao led and helped found SVB’s U.K.-based operation, SVB Financial Group UK Ltd, which was established in 2004. For six years, he was responsible for building senior debt relationships with high-growth technology, life sciences and clean technology companies in the U.K. and Europe. Tsao earned a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and an MBA from Boston University.
Arvind Rajan - Advisory Board Member @ H2; Co-Founder & Executive Chairman @ Cricket Health: Arvind is Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Cricket Health, a comprehensive kidney care provider with an evidence-based approach to managing chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease. Prior to starting the company, Arvind spent six years at LinkedIn, where he served in a series of executive leadership roles. Among other things, he led LinkedIn’s entry into new markets around the world and helped the company operate as a global business. Before LinkedIn, Arvind co-founded Grassroots Enterprise, which developed pioneering online grassroots marketing and influencer programs for Fortune 500 companies, national non-profit organizations, and government agencies. Over the course of nine years, he served as COO, then CEO and eventually Executive Chairman. Arvind began his career with the Boston Consulting Group, and has also held executive leadership roles in technology companies across a wide range of industries.
Bedy Yang - Advisory Board Member @ H2; Managing Partner @ 500 Startups: Bedy is Managing Partner at 500 Startups, a seed and accelerator fund in Silicon Valley with investments in over 50 countries. At 500 Startups, she is responsible for Brazil and Spanish-speaking investments, the Insider’s Guide to Silicon Valley Investing global investor training program (www.500.vc) and the women investment syndicate. Bedy is also founder of +INNOVATORS, an organization bringing together a network of over 10,000 people. Bedy was most recently featured in Forbes Brazil and America’s Quarterly as a leading innovator. She is also member of the Kauffman Fellowship Program. Her portfolio includes Talkdesk, ClubW, ContaAzul, VivaReal, Descomplica, companies that she seeded and has seen grow to series B. Prior to starting her career in tech, she worked with income generation for women tribes in Brazil and South-West China, and also consulted for global companies on go-to-market strategy in Brazil.
Beerud Sheth - Global Board Director @ H2; Co-Founder & CEO @ Gupshup: Beerud is the co-founder and CEO of Gupshup. Gupshup enables better customer engagement through conversational messaging. Gupshup is the leading conversational messaging platform, powering over 6 billion messages per month. Across verticals, thousands of large and small businesses use Gupshup to build conversational experiences across marketing, sales and support. He previously founded and led Elance (now Upwork, a publicly listed company), the pioneer of online freelancing and the gig economy. Before that, he worked in the financial services industry at Merrill Lynch and Citicorp Securities. His graduate research, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab, involved developing autonomous learning software agents for personalized news filtering. He earned an M.S. in computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology & a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay, where he was awarded the Institute Silver Medal.
Betsy Cohen - Advisory Board Member @ H2; President, Teneo Ventures @ Teneo: Betsy Cohen has 20 years’ experience in executive operating roles, financial management, and investment in high-growth companies. Prior to joining Teneo, Betsy was CFO and CAO of Merchantry. Previously, Betsy was co-founder and CFO of a marketing intelligence company bought by The Nielsen Company. She also served as EVP of DialogBank Russia, where Betsy launched and ran various divisions of the commercial bank division of Troika Dialog, bought by Sberbank. She also previously worked in the private equity group at Oaktree Capital and the corporate finance division of J.P. Morgan. Betsy is a former economics fellow and current member at the Council on Foreign Relations. Betsy has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an A.B. from Harvard University in Russian language and Slavic studies.
Chara Burnett - Director, Global Operations @ H2: Chara is responsible for leading global operations at H2 across our platform, partner and membership activities. She has over a decade of experience running independent events for executives at public companies (Informatica, Oracle, Siebel), venture capital firms (Technology Crossover Ventures, Elementum) as well as Event & Membership Administration for high end private organizations (YPO, Full Circle Fund). Prior to residing in Palo Alto in 2001, Chara spent 6 years in Boston where she worked in Management Consulting (EDS, HCm). She graduated, cum laude, with a degree in Operations Management, from University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Charles Hudson - Advisory Board Member @ H2, Board Director Emeritus @ H2 (2017-23); Managing Partner & Founder @ Precursor Ventures: Precursor Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm focused on investing in the first institutional round of investment for the most promising software and hardware companies. Prior to founding Precursor Ventures, Charles was a Partner at SoftTech VC. In this role, he focused on identifying investment opportunities in mobile infrastructure. He was also the Co-Founder and CEO of Bionic Panda Games, an Android-focused mobile games startup. Prior to joining SoftTech VC and co-founding Bionic Panda Games, Charles Hudson was the VP of Business Development for Serious Business until the company was acquired by Zynga in February 2010. Previously, Charles worked in New Business Development at Google and focused on new partnership opportunities. He holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from Stanford University.
Chris Misner - Advisory Board Member @ H2; Advisor & Investor: Chris Misner is an active advisor helping startups and founders globally. Most recently, he served as President of Roblox International, where he led the company's international expansion and growth initiatives. Chris is an expert at creating high-functioning cross-border teams and bringing commercial opportunities from idea to scale. Prior to Roblox, he served as an internal entrepreneur at Apple Inc for 12 years – most recently launching the Apple Online Store in China and growing it to multiple billions in revenue while leading all of Apple’s e-commerce in Asia Pacific. Chris began his Internet career at Netscape, where he ran strategic business development. After that, he led marketing, business development and international expansion on the executive teams of venture-funded start-ups Backflip and Good Technology (acquired by Motorola). Between his Architecture degree at Princeton and his MBA at Wharton, Chris was a management consultant and a United Nations observer of South Africa’s first free and fair election.
Gokul Rajaram - Advisory Board Member @ H2; Advisor, Investor & Entrepreneur: Gokul is an active board member and company helper to leading Silicon Valley startups and has served on the executive team at DoorDash since November 2019. Prior to DoorDash, he worked at Square as Product Engineering Lead from July 2013 to October 2019, where he led several product development teams and served on Square’s executive team. Prior to Square, he served as Product Director of Ads at Facebook from August 2010 to July 2013, where he helped Facebook transition its advertising business to become mobile-first. Earlier in his career, Gokul served as a Product Management Director for Google AdSense, where he helped launch the product and grow it into a substantial portion of Google’s business. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, an MBA from MIT Sloan and a Master of Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, where he received the MCD University Fellowship.
Jeff Merkel - Founder & Board Director @ H2, Co-Founder & Chief Distribution Officer @ Ladder: Offering life insurance built from the ground up, Ladder’s digital-first approach is smart, easy, and accessible for the next generation. Prior to Ladder, Jeff was Director of Mobile Sales and Partnerships at Google. He joined the company from AdMob, where he was Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific. Earlier in his career, Jeff served as Director of Media Solutions at Motorola, Marketing Manager at Apple, and Business Development Manager for a wireless payment startup in Singapore. Jeff holds bachelor’s degrees from Taylor University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Kelly Graziadei - Advisory Board Member @ H2; Founder & General Partner @ F7: Kelly is Founder & General Partner at F7 and brings 20 years of leadership experience in tech and consumer internet with companies ranging from 3 people to 200,000. She spent 7 1/2 years at Facebook in leadership positions in sales, product marketing and media. Kelly joined Facebook in 2010 and built and led its Mid-Market Sales & Account Management team in North America. Later during her tenure at Facebook, she led Monetization Product Marketing for the Direct Response Ads & Commerce business globally. In 2018, Kelly became a founding partner of F7, a seed investment fund comprised of seven female leaders who met during their tenure at Facebook. With expertise in product, engineering, sales, marketing, partnerships, HR, and operations, F7 invests in and helps bold founders grow and scale at their earliest stages. Kelly attended the University of Colorado on a full ride academic scholarship and graduated from the School of Journalism with Honors.
Nayan Patel - Founder, CEO & Board Director @ H2: Nayan leads global strategy and operations for H2 with a focus on network growth, program/platform development and partnerships. He has over fifteen years operating experience in growth-oriented leadership positions across product management, business development, and international operations with high growth, global companies including LinkedIn, Google, and Yahoo!. Prior to H2, he held early lead roles at LinkedIn with its international operations and corporate/business development teams, and previously at Google with its product management and syndication partnerships teams. Nayan received his MBA from Santa Clara University, and his BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley.
Peter Clarke - Advisory Board Member @ H2; Talent Partner @ Accel: Peter joined Accel in 2013 and leads Accel’s talent efforts - focused on building high value relationships across our network of amazing people and helping our entrepreneurs build high performance teams. Prior to Accel, Peter was VP of Executive Talent at Greylock. He joined Greylock from True, a boutique retained executive search firm, where he was a founding partner. Before shifting into the world of entrepreneurs and executive talent, he was a software architect for Boeing, and one of the last projects he worked on was the comprehensive services system that would support Boeing's newest airplane. Peter is a native Californian who also spent a good chunk of his life on the East coast. He graduated from SUNY Brockport with a degree in Computer Science, and he holds a Masters in Software Development from CMU.
Peter Werner - Advisory Board Member @ H2; Partner @ Cooley: Peter is co-chair of Cooley’s global emerging companies and venture capital practice group. Peter’s practice primarily focuses on the representation of high growth companies and their investors. He regularly assists clients with financings and mergers and acquisitions, in addition to entity formation, governance matters and securities transactions. Peter is a member of Cooley's firmwide pro bono and mental health and wellness committees and is also one of the founders and curators of Cooley GO, a microsite with tools, forms, guidance and data for entrepreneurs and emerging companies. Peter serves on the board of directors of the Full Circle Fund, a nonprofit engaged philanthropy organization, and Imagine H2O, a nonprofit organization accelerating solutions to water problems. He also serves as a mentor at MuckerLab, a Los Angeles-based startup accelerator.
Reshma Sohoni - Advisory Board Member @ H2, Board Director Emeritus @ H2 (2019-22); Co-Founder & Managing Partner @ Seedcamp: Seedcamp is Europe's seed fund, identifying and investing early in world-class founders attacking large, global market and solving real problems using technology. Since launch a decade ago Seedcamp has invested in 250 startups including the likes of fintech unicorn TransferWise along with some of Europe's fastest growing companies Revolut, UiPath and wefox. Earlier in her career, Reshma spent over 3 years at Vodafone in their Commercial Strategy team, working across the Europe and Japan footprints in marketing strategy and pricing functions. Her venture capital career started with eVentures India where she actively supported companies like Make My Trip (NASDAQ – MMYT), Contest2Win, and Clubgreetings. Reshma started her career in the US in investment banking with Broadview (now part of Jefferies). She has an MBA from INSEAD and dual undergraduate degrees in Engineering and Business from the University of Pennsylvania.
Tak Miyata - Advisory Board Member @ H2; Founder & General Partner @ Scrum Ventures: Tak Miyata has over 20 years of international experience in the IT industry, both as an entrepreneur and a senior executive. He founded Scrum Ventures in 2013 and serves as General Partner. Tak began his career as a systems engineer for Electronic Data Systems (an HP company). In 2002, Tak founded his first US-based startup, Neven Vision, a biometrics firm, which was acquired by Google in 2006. Tak then established J-Magic, a Japan-based startup to develop mobile-specific services using image analysis technology. After the company exited, Tak joined Mixi, where he served as the CEO of Mixi America. Tak holds a Master’s degree in Nano Science from Waseda University.
Teymour Farman-Farmaian - Advisory Board Member @ H2; Co-Founder & CEO @ Higlobe: Higlobe’s mission is to move the world’s money instantly and at no cost. Teymour was early into search (Google 2003, growing European revenues to > $1Bn) and social media (Zynga 2009, where he was responsible for multi-billion dollar Facebook and Apple partnerships). After that, he was hired to launch Spotify in the USA as CMO & CRO (2011, scaling revenues to $500M). In 2018 he joined Xapo as SVP USA. At the time, Xapo was the world’s largest Bitcoin custodian (holding 7-10% of all Bitcoin) until Xapo’s 2019 sale to Coinbase. At Xapo, Teymour saw Bitcoin being used for international payments and identified stablecoin as a less volatile alternative for transferring value. In 2020, Teymour co-founded Higlobe, a cross-border payments company leveraging stablecoin. Teymour attended Duke University, graduating in Economics in 1988. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1995 and speaks 6 languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Persian). Teymour sponsors the Digital Asset Research Cooperative (DAREC) at Duke University.
Tom Clayton - Advisory Board Member @ H2, Board Director Emeritus @ H2 (2017-23); Chief Revenue Officer @ Bill.com: Tom is a seasoned technology leader that has built numerous tech companies. As Chief Revenue Officer at Bill.com, Tom leads all sales, marketing, and strategic partnerships. Prior to Bill.com, Tom was an early executive at Houzz, the world’s largest home renovation platform, where he built all of the company’s international operations from scratch. Previously, he was the CEO of Bubbly, a social media messaging service backed by Sequoia Capital, SingTel, and others, building it into a leader in mobile social media across Asia, with over 200 million users. Prior to running Bubbly, Tom was GM of the Mobile Business at BEA Systems, an enterprise software company acquired by Oracle for $8.5 billion. Tom holds a B.S. from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.
